The Proposal:
A Stick Studio sent me a test - create an illustration and a short storyboard, from a script sent by them, that can lead to a full animation gig, and potential YouTube video creation collaboration, based on the book "7 habits of highly effective people" by Stephen R. Covey... so far, so good, but little did I know that this would turn out to be a scam!
The Scam and the Sham
The below illustration and storyboard were supposed to lead to a paid full-length 20-minute YouTube video animation, reviewing the book, and a future collaboration, but turns out, they never got back to me - they were scammers - sorry to break the news, people... It does happen - I never heard back from them - I only got to the one illustration and several sketches for the first scene, luckily, I only did the first few seconds of the whole project when they disappeared on me.
Basically, I shared my illustration and storyboard of the first scene with them over a G-Drive folder, and gave them only Viewer's permission, no option to download or share. When they asked me to give them full sharing access to the files, to which I politely said they need to give me the names, emails, and occupations to the people they want me to add to the G-Drive folder before I do so, they never got back to me. Afterwards, I obviously couldn't continue with the animation, but I decided to share the story and the work anyway, as I am particularly fond of it.
